Liam Rosenior has defended his record since taking charge at Chelsea, insisting the side remain well placed in every competition and citing 15 games yielding 10 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats. According to L'Équipe, his comments followed progression to the FA Cup quarter-finals.

His three defeats have all come against Arsenal, twice in the League Cup, 2-3 and 0-1, then 1-2 in the Premier League eight days ago.

That league setback cost Robert Sanchez his starting place, with Filip Jörgensen coming in for the midweek 4-1 win at Aston Villa. Rosenior praised Jörgensen’s influence in the build-up.

Chelsea then reached the FA Cup last eight by beating Wrexham 4-2 after extra time, Sanchez featuring for a second-string side. The display again prompted scrutiny of their game management, and Rosenior said he is two months into the job and still getting to know the squad.

Jörgensen is likely to start when Chelsea face PSG on Wednesday at 20:45 in the Champions League last-16 first leg.
