Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens is emerging as an option for Aston Villa if they have to go into the market for a replacement, according to the Daily Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath.

Villa first-choice Emi Martinez could emerge as a target for Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, with Bento linked with a move away.

Nothing is decided yet, but the Villa Park club could lose the Argentine, and manager Unai Emery has eyes on Lammens.

The highly-rated 23-year-old Belgian is on the radar of Manchester United and Galatasaray, but Villa could lure him to the Midlands club with a guarantee of a place in their starting XI.

They need a quality replacement should Martinez leave, and Lammens fits the bill.

Man United want an upgrade on Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir, but the Antwerp star may have to fight for a place in the Red Devils starting line-up as their current goalkeeping duo will not easily give up their place.

The case will be different at Villa as he will be expected to replace Martinez in the starting XI if the Argentine moves on.

Summer signing Marco Bizot was in goal against Newcastle United for the first Premier League game of 2025-26, but Martinez was reinstated for the Brentford game.

The Villans need to make some sales if they are to sign quality players in the hours leading up to the transfer deadline on Monday, and Al-Nassr could be willing to pay good money for their Argentine star.

They are also hoping to sign West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta, on loan with an obligation to buy, offering the Hammers an initial £5 million loan fee, with £45m to follow next summer.

Villa could look to secure loan deals in the coming hours given their inability to splash the cash, and Emery and his team will be working overtime to identify the best options in the market for the club.
