Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham are lining up a double move for Leeds United striker Lukas Nmecha and free agent Axel Tuanzebe, according to the Daily Mail.

Phil Parkinson’s team narrowly missed the play-offs last season and are pushing to go one better, with promotion to the Premier League the ultimate aim. Co-owners Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have favoured quality over quantity this summer.

Crystal Palace defender Danny Imray, Preston North End captain Ben Whiteman and Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson have already joined, with a combined outlay of £16 million.

Manchester City academy graduate Nmecha scored six goals in 31 Premier League outings for Leeds in 2025/26 after arriving from Wolfsburg last summer. He has Championship experience with Preston and Middlesbrough, and Wrexham are aiming to persuade the 27-year-old to drop back to the second tier.

Tuanzebe, 28, left Burnley at the end of his contract and is now a free agent. He made 14 top-flight appearances last season amid injury issues, having previously featured for Manchester United, Aston Villa, Napoli, Stoke and Ipswich. He has also been linked with Hull City, but Wrexham are understood to be in talks.

The pursuit follows reported interest in Viking Stavanger centre back Henrik Falchener, who impressed at this summer’s World Cup. Viking sporting director Erik Nevland has said Wrexham tabled a very substantial offer. The bid is believed to be around £8.1 million including bonuses after two earlier rejections.
