Speaking after his side’s convincing loss to high-flying Rennes this afternoon, Saint-Étienne defender Harold Moukoudi did not hold back in criticising his team’s performance, as Les Verts remain bottom of the league.
His words transcribed in L’Équipe, the centre-back highlighted the seriousness of the home defeat, as Claude Puel’s men notably conceded a Martin Terrier hat-trick, with all three goals coming from assists from the mercurial Lovro Majer.
“I have no words. To concede that kind of result at home is shameful, catastrophic. We’re all dejected. It really hurts. We have to find solutions very quickly and get our heads back up. In our position, we have no choice. We can’t go on like this.”
“It’s difficult to explain this situation. And you have the match which hurt a lot. We took a serious hit on the back of the head. Will it leave a mark? I don’t know, I can’t tell the future. It makes sense that the supporters are angry.”
