Sam Greenwood has joined Bristol City, reuniting with former Leeds United coach Skubala in the Championship.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the 24-year-old arrives on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee after a year with Polish side Pogon Szczecin.
They previously worked together at Leeds, initially with the under-21s before stepping up to first-team duties. Skubala moved from Lincoln City to Bristol City at the end of May.
Greenwood had spells away from Elland Road at Middlesbrough and Preston North End, then departed permanently last summer to join Pogon Szczecin, where he became their record signing. He now returns to English football with the Robins’ second addition of the summer.
Skubala views Greenwood as exactly the profile Bristol City are targeting, emphasising his youth, drive and senior experience, and he is keen to see his progress this season. Greenwood is excited by the club’s ambition and surroundings, pledging to give everything and aiming to add goals and assists.
Elsewhere, Brentford are eyeing a move for former Leeds loanee Jaidon Anthony. The winger spent 2023-24 at Elland Road from Bournemouth before joining Burnley permanently in May 2025.
Burnley are preparing for a return to the Championship, and Brentford have held initial talks with the Clarets about Anthony and teammate Zian Flemming.
