Santos announce Arthur signing on deal to 2026 | OneFootball

Santos have announced the signing of midfielder Arthur on a contract running until 31 December 2026, with an option for a further year.

According to Globo.com, Neymar recommended Arthur to the board, the pair having played together for Brazil and formed a friendship.

The club introduced him on social media with a suit gag, former player Renato leaving a suit in the dressing room for Arthur to wear. He replied that it fit and said he is now Peixão.

He described the move as a dream realised, saying he is honoured by Santos' history and eager to help his team-mates, feel the support and play at Vila Belmiro.

Arthur had been on loan at Grêmio, was sent back to Juventus, then last week terminated his contract with the Italian club.

Santos had settled terms in recent days but awaited payment of the transfer ban to proceed.

The midfielder is their first signing of this window. The club remain in the market for further options, although finances are an obstacle.
