According to Diario Do Peixe, the fourth round of the 2026 Copa Sudamericana ended on Thursday night. Santos drew 1-1 with Recoleta, staying bottom of Group D on three points but still with good chances of reaching the last 16.
San Lorenzo lead the section on six after drawing with Deportivo Cuenca. Cuenca sit second on five, with Recoleta third on four following their point against Santos.
Cuenca host Recoleta in Ecuador on 19 May. Santos then face San Lorenzo at Vila Belmiro, Santos, on 20 May at 19:00.
If Santos win their two remaining home games, they only fail to secure top spot if Recoleta win both of their away fixtures against Cuenca and San Lorenzo. Two victories would at least guarantee Santos second place.
Under the competition rules, only group winners advance directly to the last 16. Runners-up enter a play-off against clubs finishing third in the Copa Libertadores group stage.
No club has a 100% record in the tournament. Elsewhere among Brazilian sides, Atlético-MG are fourth in Group B on four points, São Paulo lead Group C with eight, Botafogo top Group E with 10, Grêmio are second in Group F on seven, Vasco lead Group G on seven and Red Bull Bragantino are third in Group H with six.
