Roberto De Zerbi’s departure from Olympique de Marseille was confirmed in the early hours of Wednesday, and the club have begun the search for his successor.

According to Foot Mercato, Habib Beye, sacked by Stade Rennais earlier this week, is high on OM’s shortlist, joined by former FC Porto, AC Milan and FC Nantes manager Sergio Conceicao.

Conceicao is currently employed by Al-Ittihad, so Marseille would need to pay compensation, with his release clause understood to be €4.5m.

OM are yet to make contact, but the hierarchy are admirers of the Portuguese coach.

Marseille previously tried to appoint Conceicao before De Zerbi’s arrival at the Vélodrome 18 months ago.
