Leicester City face a late decision over Caleb Okoli, with interest from Serie A emerging in the final week of the summer window.

Nicolo Schira reports that Cagliari, along with another unnamed Italian club, are keen, while City would only sanction a permanent transfer and Cagliari proposed a loan with an option to buy. Cagliari signed Harry Winks from City this summer.

Okoli joined from Atalanta in 2024 for around £13m after promotion to the Premier League. He was expected to move on following back-to-back relegations with City, yet has started the first three games of the new season under Russell Martin and faced scrutiny after outings against Notts County and Burton Albion.

Leicester are short at centre-back, with Ben Nelson sidelined by an ACL injury and Wout Faes expected to leave, while Harry Souttar has been strongly linked with Sheffield United.

Monza, Torino and Fiorentina have also been linked with the 25-year-old this summer. The window in Italy closes on the first of September, the same day as in England.
