Adil Demirbag struck in the 75th minute with a close-range finish to turn a tight game, as Konyaspor beat Galatasaray 2-0. The centre-back's goal ended a long winless run and flipped the mood in Konya.
The defender reacted quickest after a corner broke loose, steering it in from a yard out as Ugurcan Yazgili kept the ball alive. It was the release Konyaspor had been hunting after a disciplined, compact display.
From there, Demirbag marshalled the back line superbly as Aslan pushed on. He read crosses early, stepped in front of runners and cleared his box under pressure to protect the advantage.
He finished with three clearances, four interceptions and six recoveries, plus a blocked shot, underlining a complete centre-half's performance. On the ball he was secure too, completing 26 of 29 passes to help Konyaspor reset after turnovers.
The moment came from a familiar route. Konyaspor loaded the six-yard area, pinned markers, and Demirbag's aggressive starting position let him attack the second ball. That blend of structure and timing kept Galatasaray uncomfortable at key phases.
Konyaspor rise from 14th to 13th and visit Başakşehir next. Aslan head to Juventus in the Champions League.
How high would you rate Demirbag's performance tonight?
