Sevilla are assessing a move for Renato Sanches as the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder looks for an exit and prioritises staying in Europe.
Diario de Sevilla reports that the club have sounded out the 29-year-old, who has turned down offers from Saudi Arabia, Brazil and MLS to remain in Europe. England, Italy, Germany, France and Spain are among his potential destinations.
For now the idea is at an early stage and not a top priority. José Ignacio Navarro aims to add a third striker first, then a wide player, especially if Oso and Rubén Vargas leave. Any midfield addition would follow.
Sanches fits Sevilla’s search for dynamism and ball-carrying in midfield. Any progress would depend on the financial terms, the player’s willingness and the available salary space.
He emerged at Benfica in 2015-16, winning the league and Taça da Liga and the Golden Boy. Bayern Munich signed him for 35 million euros in 2016, and he later spent time on loan at Swansea City. His best spell came at Lille from 2019 to 2022, lifting the 2020-21 Ligue 1, before joining PSG and going on loans to AS Roma, Benfica and Panathinaikos. He is under contract in Paris until June 2027, is currently with the reserves and is seeking a definitive solution.
