Sevilla unveil last-minute signing of Youssouf Fofana from AC Milan

Sevilla have unveiled Youssouf Fofana as their latest midfield addition, the club announced on Wednesday.

The French international emerged as a surprise target late on Tuesday, with Sevilla opening talks with AC Milan over a last-minute loan in the closing hours of the Spanish window.

In Milan, Fofana was informed he does not figure in the plans of new head coach Ruben Amorim for the season ahead, and the 27-year-old in turn opened the door to a La Liga move.

After swift negotiations between the clubs, Sevilla finalised the move and presented Fofana to the media.

The former Monaco midfielder has signed through next summer and will wear the number 24 shirt in Luis García’s squad.
