ASSE have confirmed their first summer signing, centre-back Sohaib Naïr, on a contract to 2030.

The 24-year-old arrives from Guingamp after two Ligue 2 seasons, totalling 45 matches. Before that he featured mainly in N2 and N3.

Naïr is familiar with the division and will compete for places in a well-stocked central defence.

He expressed pride at joining a historic club and said he is eager to discover Geoffroy-Guichard and the Peuple Vert as a Stéphanois. He added that he looks forward to meeting his new team-mates.

Sporting director Loïc Perrin said the club had tracked Naïr for several months and highlighted his Ligue 2 experience and personality as valuable for building a collective. He noted the defender has faced difficulties in his career, which the club appreciates, and wished him a smooth adaptation to help achieve team objectives.
