FC Bayern seem to be putting out feelers to Brazil again – and have set their sights on another talent alongside Rayan from Vasco de Gama: Souza from Santos FC
As reported in the BILD podcast„Bayern-Insider“, the young left-back has been on Munich’s watch list for some time. He is not yet a hot transfer target, but Bayern are keeping a close eye on his development
Tobi Altschäffl sums it up in the podcast: „That’s true. Souza is known to Bayern, they are looking at him.“ The youngster thus joins a growing list of South American talents that the record champions are following with increasing attention
Souza comes from the famous youth academy of FC Santos – a club that has produced world stars such as Neymar, Rodrygo and Endrick. The left-back is regarded as a modern full-back who likes to switch to attacking play, drives the ball forward and has a good feel for the game between the lines
BILD reporter Julian Agardi describes him as a player who „is already one of the most exciting full-backs of his age in Brazil“ and brings „a lot of dynamism and wit“ to the table. It is precisely this player profile that has traditionally been a high priority for Bayern, as modern full-backs are always thought of in more offensive terms

Despite his attractive athletic qualities and Bayern’s early interest, it is clear that a transfer is not planned in the short term. Souza is in a development phase that Bayern would like to continue to accompany from a distance for the time being
The club would first like to see how Souza develops – and stabilizes against stronger opponents. Physical development is crucial, especially for full-backs, before a move to Europe seems sensible
The situation is also financially relaxed, with the player’s market value currently standing at three million euros. However, Brazilian talent quickly rises in price as soon as European clubs get serious. Bayern therefore want to be prepared without investing too hastily
Coach Vincent Kompany attaches great importance to flexible full-backs who are both defensively stable and bold offensively. The left side in particular is an area in which Bayern must plan for the future
While Alphonso Davies is set, there is a lack of a young backup who can develop behind the Canadian. Raphael Guerreiro’s future remains open
Altschäffl therefore concludes: „It is logical for Bayern to look at left-backs with this profile at an early stage.“
