Spain and Germany have equipped players with ice-cooled vests during training to mitigate intense heat at the World Cup in the United States.

As reported by L'Équipe, several national teams have turned to the technology in recent days, and the two European sides are working with models supplied by the same kit provider.

The vests are lifted straight from pitchside coolers and worn during short recovery windows within sessions, helping curb rises in body temperature and maximising hydration opportunities.

Spain are training in Chattanooga, Tennessee, while Germany are in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Germany have also positioned touchline fans towards players as they complete ball work drills.
