Sporting Kansas City have acquired forward Seymour Reid on loan from New York City FC, the clubs announced Thursday.

The 18-year-old Jamaican youth international's loan is through the 2027 MLS Sprint Season.

In exchange for Reid, NYCFC receive up to $125,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) – with $75k guaranteed and $50k conditional.

"Seymour was one of the top young players in MLS NEXT Pro last season with 13 goals in 15 games who will provide different characteristics to our front line that will help us through the remainder of the year and the Sprint Season," said David Lee, Sporting KC's president of soccer operations & general manager.

Reid signed a homegrown deal with NYCFC in 2025 and has tallied 1g/1a in 29 first-team matches.

He's also featured extensively for their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, New York City FC II, where he's totaled 15g/2a.

Internationally, Reid has represented Jamaica at the U-17 level and was called up to the senior squad for the first time in October 2025. He has yet to make his senior debut.
