Leeds United and West Ham United scouted Nelson Deossa could still leave Real Betis before the transfer window closes, with a move ‘still being worked on’.
Deossa moved to Real Betis from Mexican outfit Monterrey last August, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Spanish side.
The Colombian midfielder made 33 appearances across all competitions last season, accumulating 1,491 minutes as Real Betis secured a place in the Champions League.
Los Verdiblancos have anticipated the possibility of the 26-year-old leaving this summer, with a move to England seen as an attractive outcome due to the financial benefit it would provide.
They stand ready to sell for the right price, but Deossa’s stance has caused an issue on that front, with the player already rejecting a move to Brazil and a return to Mexico.

There is significant interest from England, which is seen as the most likely route Deossa could now take out of Real Betis.
Scouts from Leeds and West Ham attended Real Betis’ friendly game against Arsenal earlier this month to watch Deossa in action in a sign of their interest in him.
However, it was suggested that the Whites and the Hammers may not be able to land the midfielder as he is ‘clinging to his contract’ at the Seville club.
It was suggested last week that the English club duo would need to present an ‘irresistible’ offer to the 26-year-old to sway him from Real Betis.
With that it seemed the chances of a switch were decreasing, but according to Spanish journalist Gonzalo Tortosa, Deossa’s departure from Real Betis is ‘still being worked on’ and it remains a possibility this summer.

Leeds could well want another option in the engine room before the window closes and Deossa may well fit the bill for Daniel Farke’s men.
West Ham are also looking to strengthen their midfield following the high-profile departure of Mateus Fernandes, with players like Edson Alvarez and Soungoutou Magassa also tipped to leave this summer.
The Irons have recently secured the signature of Arne Engels from Celtic and still believe there is work to be done in midfield as they push for an immediate return to the Premier League.
It remains to be seen whether Leeds or West Ham are working behind the scenes on a Deossa deal.
Meanwhile, the Yorkshire club have beaten off ‘plenty of competition’ to sign Rabotnicki Skopje striker Ditmir Hodja, who has been compared to Kai Havertz in style.
