Sport Bild and the local Stuttgarter Nachrichten report that VfB Stuttgart have seven specific strikers on their wish list ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window. The Bundesliga outfit has already been linked with Racing Santander’s Jeremy Arévalo, Newcastle United’s William Osula, and Nottingham Forest’s Arnaud Kalimuendo.

The two German sources – as relayed by transfermarkt.de – add four more names to the list. Stuttgart are also considering Bologna’s Thijs Dallings, Union Saint-Gilloise’s Promise David, Club Brugge’s Romeo Vermant, and Viktoria Plzen’s Rafiu Durosinmi. Plzen’s Durosinmi nearly transferred to Eintracht Frankfurt last year before problems arose during his medical.

Stuttgart themselves were keen on signing South Korean striker Oh Hyeon-Gyu at the end of the autumn transfer window until the KRC Genk professional ended up failing his medical. The Swabians were ultimately unable to procure a direct replacement for surprise late departure Nick Woltemade.

Woltemade’s €75m sale to Newcastle nevertheless did ended up filling the VfB coffers. Stuttgart’s already positive transfer surplus increased to well over €65m even after late purchases of Tiago Tomas (€13m) and Badredine Bouanani (€15m). It such that one fully expects the Württemberger to make some big splashes in the January transfer market.

Of all the names on the list, Vermant counts as the most intriguing candidate. The Belgian U21 international is the son of former Schalke mainstay Sven Vermant and was actually born in Gelsenkirchen. At present, the 21-year-old maintains an estimated market worth of €8m.
