Sunderland have sent 15 senior players out on loan this season, with mixed returns across the divisions at home and abroad.
According to Sunderland Echo, Alan Browne has settled at promotion-chasing Middlesbrough and won January’s PFA Fans’ Player of the Month. At Wolfsburg, Jenson Seelt has been hampered by injuries and is sidelined again, with suggestions last week the club are unlikely to buy.
Nazariy Rusyn is fighting relegation with Arka Gdynia, scoring two in 15. Timothee Pembele rejoined Le Havre in January and has made four substitute appearances.
Niall Huggins is featuring for Wycombe, though he has not nailed a starting berth and has filled in at right midfield. Dan Neil, whose deal expires this summer, eased into Ipswich’s plans with a league cameo at Derby then an FA Cup start in a loss to Wrexham on Friday.
Arthur Masuaku has two cameos for RC Lens, totalling 10 minutes, and could see more time as the run-in unfolds. Anthony Patterson is yet to debut for Millwall, with Alex Neil favouring Max Crocombe in wins over Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday, though he could be called upon.
Aji Alese’s spell at Portsmouth ended after a career-ending muscular injury against Preston North End earlier this month, and he will return to Wearside for rehabilitation. Leo Hjelde has been used sparingly by Chris Wilder at Sheffield United, limited to a couple of six-minute cameos.
Simon Adingra netted twice in AS Monaco’s 3-1 win over OGC Nice in only his second outing, and he could now kick on, with early signs encouraging.
Zak Johnson drew praise from York City boss Stuart Maynard and scored his first senior goal in a 3-0 win over Wealdstone. Trey Ogunsuyi is goalless in five for Shrewsbury Town, still settling but trusted.
Oliver Bainbridge is thriving at South Shields, with three goals and two assists in 20 National League North matches. Luis Hemir has one goal from 12 outings for Moreirense in Portugal’s top flight.
