Mile Svilar is attending the Gran Galà del Calcio in Milan, the event dedicated to the best in Italian football.
Before the ceremony, the Roma goalkeeper spoke to Sky Sport.
“A year ago, it was hard to imagine this ranking. We all recovered from a dark moment together. From a footballing perspective, it was a dream year: my hard work paid off. Gasperini’s impact has been very positive.”
These were the words with which the number 99 began, speaking about 2025, the year he also had a son, and the arrival of Gasperini.
Yesterday, the Giallorossi took to the field in front of their fans, who are dreaming of the Scudetto like never before. Roma lost to Napoli, but Svilar sees the glass half full: “To win games like the one against Napoli, you have to do more, but we’re there. It’s still a long and open championship, we’re close to the others, just one point away. We’re improving game after game, we must continue on this path.”
Regarding Neres’ goal last night, he said: “I always try to focus on myself, then as a team, we analyze the collective mistakes. I was convinced he didn’t have any space, but he found it. Now let’s move on.”
Gasp’s arrival has brought a new mentality to Trigoria, with training sessions more demanding than ever. The Giallorossi goalkeeper commented: “For me, nothing has changed. The goalkeeping coach is the same, but seeing the faces of the others is impressive: I’ve never seen anything like it; it’s incredibly tough.”
Finally, he spoke of Daniele De Rossi, the man who established him as a permanent fixture in the first team. “For me, he was the most important coach, but I can’t talk too much about coaches I’ve had in the past. He gave me the opportunity that many before him hadn’t given me, perhaps due to my own mistakes. He may be a great coach, but first and foremost, he’s a great man.”
