Valencia CF emerged strengthened from the derby victory against Levante UD at the Ciutat. For Carlos Corberán, it felt like more than three points.
According to Superdeporte, the result ended a run of three consecutive defeats and restored a clean sheet. Back-up players committed to the cause and the bond with the fans briefly returned after the row with Real Madrid at Mestalla.
Winter recruits Umar Sadiq, Guido Rodríguez and Unai Núñez also justified the club’s work in the winter window. The overall picture was positive.
Another internally valued detail came at the Ciutat. Players excluded by suspension or injury chose to be alongside the team, even though club rules only oblige them to attend Mestalla, not the other ground in the city or province.
Copete, Diakhaby, Danjuma and Diego López were out of the squad yet still turned up to support their team-mates in an important derby on every level.
The coaching staff and dressing-room leaders noted the gesture, reading it as a sign of a healthy group. Diakhaby, for his part, does not even have a registration date.
