The World Cup situation that Burnley won't like - It's got nothing to do with Kyle Walker

Zeki Amdouni's lack of game time at the World Cup will be frustrating for Burnley as they look to offload the Switzerland forward this summer.
Burnley are preparing for life back in the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League.
It was another disappointing campaign in the Premier League for Burnley last season as they were relegated with just 22 points, but while they will be hoping to bounce back to the top flight at the first attempt, they have plenty of work to do ahead of their return to the Championship.
The Clarets parted company with head coach Scott Parker in April after their relegation, but more than two months on from his departure, they are still yet to appoint his replacement, with Craig Bellamy and Rob Edwards both rejecting the chance to take over at Turf Moor in recent weeks.
Mike Jackson, who took charge for the final four games of last season after Parker's exit, is overseeing the early stages of pre-season, but with just over a month until Burnley's Championship opener at home to West Ham United, pressure is increasing on owner Alan Pace to resolve the managerial situation.
With the World Cup currently taking centre stage, Clarets supporters will no doubt have an eye on events in the United States, but the lack of game time for one of their stars may be causing some frustration in Lancashire.

Burnley have been in the headlines over the past week after Wayne Rooney suggested that Clarets defender Kyle Walker should have been included in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the World Cup amid his right-back issues.
Tuchel's headache has become even greater after Jarell Quansah's red card in the win over Mexico, but with Reece James and Djed Spence both picking up injuries in recent games, Rooney claimed that the German should have been "right on the phone" to Walker after Tino Livramento withdrew prior to the tournament.
Walker made 36 appearances for the Clarets last season following his move from Manchester City for a fee of up to £5 million, and in response to Rooney's comments, the 36-year-old claimed that he "still can offer something".
However, while Burnley would certainly have loved one of their own to represent England on the international stage, they may feel more disappointed by the fact that one of their players who did make the cut for the World Cup, forward Zeki Amdouni, has been largely overlooked by Switzerland so far.
After returning from a loan spell with Benfica, Amdouni missed almost the entirety of last season with a serious knee injury, but he returned for the final four games of the campaign, and he may have felt the World Cup was the perfect opportunity to put himself in the shop window.

Given that Amdouni departed on loan after Burnley's previous relegation to the Championship, it is unlikely that he will be keen on the prospect of sticking around in the second tier next season.
The fact that Portuguese giants Benfica came in for Amdouni two years ago suggests that he is highly regarded in European football, but his stock will have fallen after almost a year out with injury, and the Clarets would have hoped the World Cup could have raised his value ahead of a possible sale this summer.
While Amdouni has failed to make much of an impact at Turf Moor, his record for Switzerland at international level is far more impressive, with the 25-year-old scoring 11 goals in just 31 appearances for his country so far.
However, despite that, Amdouni has barely been used during the World Cup by head coach Murat Yakin, making just two late substitute appearances in the draw with Qatar in the opening round of the group stage and the round of 32 victory over Algeria, with those cameos totalling just 18 minutes.
With the likes of Johan Manzambi, Breel Embolo and Rubén Vargas impressing for Switzerland, it is understandable that Yakin has been reluctant to change his forward line, but that will be of little comfort to Burnley as Amdouni continues to watch from the bench.
Switzerland take on Colombia in the last 16 on Tuesday night, and they could potentially face the likes of Argentina and England should they progress further in the tournament, which could give Amdouni opportunities to catch the eye if selected.
However, if he has not been called upon for the group stage and round of 32 matches, it seems unlikely that Yakin will give Amdouni much game time in the upcoming fixtures, and the Clarets may have to take a loss on the fee of more than £15 million they paid for the forward if they cash in on him this summer.
