The 2-2 draw at Tynecastle on Sunday was far from the disaster that’s been portrayed, but more of a small blip in the title charge, as we currently find ourselves in the lowly position of third place.

We don’t do second place at Celtic, never mind third, but we are far from doomed as we are currently just two points behind serial second place contenders theRangers, and six behind current leaders Hearts. That’s an achievable step to climb, as opposed to a hill or a mountain.

With a favourable run of fixtures coming up, whilst Hearts and theRangers having to play some difficult fixtures, as well as each other, it’s still very much in our hands to cut that gap, or indeed overhaul it in the coming weeks and months.

We of course still have two games to negotiate against our Glasgow rivals, as well as a home clash with the Jambos in the coming months, so it’s all very much still in our own hands.

To enhance our chances, we need to invest in two or three new faces to inject some freshness and quality into our side. A striker, a midfielder and a central defender would be ideal, and fully prepare us for the difficult challenge ahead.

The likes of Kelechi Iheanacho and Marcelo Saracchi are both back, and a couple of new additions to go alongside them would lift our spirits and further strengthen our chances of winning the title.

We bolster the experience required to make a challenge, and we have the quality, a few more additions will only strengthen our cause, and make us all that stronger during the second half of the campaign.

This title is still very much winnable. Let’s give ourselves a fighting chance by recruiting wisely, we still have a helluva lot to play for, starting this evening when we can become the only Scottish team to progress beyond the group stages in Europe this season.
