SV Robinhood wins inaugural edition

The Suriname club was crowned champion in 2023 after a 3-nil victory on aggregate over Cavalier FC of Jamaica. The first leg was a tight 1-nil win thanks to a goal from Dimitrio Andro. The second leg was scoreless for most of the match, until Robinhood got a pair of late goals in the 89’ and the 90+4’ to seal the deal.

Cavalier FC gets redemption

Jamaican club Cavalier FC, which has played both finals, was able to win the tournament in 2024. The offense was a juggernaut, cruising to a 7-nil aggregate win in the semifinals over Moca FC. Cavalier won the final against Cibao FC, 2-2 on aggregate, relying on a 1-nil home win in the first leg and an away goal in the second leg to lift its first trophy.

150 goals in Caribbean Cup history

The 150 goals milestone was reached last year after the 2024 edition saw 81 goals scored in 28 matches. The inaugural 2023 edition racked up 69 goals.

Of all goals, 96 were scored from open play, 30 headed, 19 came from penalties, one from a free kick, and four were own goals. Notably, one-third of the goals scored across 2023 and 2024 (50 goals) came from set pieces.

Most wins

Jamaica’s Cavalier FC leads the way with nine. Dominican side Moca FC has eight, while their counterparts Cibao FC are third on the list with seven.

Top scorers

A pair of Cavalier players are tied atop the list as Shaquille Stein and Shaniel Thomas have eight apiece.
