Toulouse reject €33m Sunderland bid for Dayann Methalie

Toulouse have rejected a fourth Sunderland bid worth €33m including bonuses for left-back Dayann Methalie, according to L'Équipe.

Methalie has chosen to join the Premier League club, but there is still no agreement between the sides.

Had it been accepted, the offer would have produced the biggest sale in the club’s history. The hierarchy had set that benchmark to sanction a move.

The refusal has frustrated Sunderland, who remain intent on signing the Frenchman while paying what they consider a market-aligned fee.

Toulouse are understood to be seeking €35m. Methalie is 20.
