Transfer: Cedric Badolo heads to Azerbaijan

The Burkina Faso international Cedric Badolo departs Slovakia’s Spartak Trnava and is now set to continue his career in Azerbaijan.

After limited playing time with Spartak Trnava, Cedric Badolo has found a new destination. The midfielder has signed a six-month contract with FK Sumgayit.

Since his arrival in Slovakia in January 2025, Badolo saw very little action on the pitch. He was not in the plans of his former club, with the ex-Sheriff Tiraspol player making only a handful of appearances since August 2025—a stint of just about six months.

At 27 years old, the Burkina Faso international, who boasts 30 caps for his country, will now experience the top flight in Azerbaijan as he looks to recapture his best form.
