Transfer: Thierry Mohamed Sanou signs in Morocco

Thierry Mohamed Sanou has joined Olympique Safi in the final moments of the winter transfer window.

After being a free agent without a contract, the Ivorian-Burkinabé defender Thierry Mohamed Sanou has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Olympique Safi.

The central defender, who is also comfortable playing as a left-back, is embarking on his first professional experience abroad. He has chosen to join the Moroccan Botola Pro—a highly competitive league—to further develop his game.

Sanou is a graduate of the ES Bafing academy in Ivory Coast, and later played for Racing Club Abidjan and Innova SCA.

The Safi club, currently struggling at the bottom of the Botola Pro standings, is betting on a versatile, young yet experienced defender to help secure their top-flight status and push further in the CAF Confederation Cup.
