TS Galaxy head coach Adan Beganovic says they are eager to defy the odds and lift the Carling Knockout Cup trophy this season.
The Rockets will lock horns with Golden Arrows in the quarterfinals at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday after seeing off Orbit College in the first round.
With the match on the horizon, Beganovic is relishing a tactical battle with his counterpart Manqoba Mngqithi in the opposing dugout.
“I think it's a great opportunity for us, for the club and also I think we have an opportunity to play against a good opponent who wants to play football on a good pitch and I think it will be a good game tactically and physically especially if we go to 120 minutes,” he said.
While he anticipates the KZN side to give them a run for their money, the Bosnian mentor has firmly set sights on winning the League Cup with Galaxy after the club fell to Stellenbosch in the final during the 2023/24 campaign.
“I put all attention on this cup in the beginning [of the season] and we want to make sure we bring the cup at home,” Beganovic added.
"A little bit yes [our good record against Arrows makes us confident], also we played a good game that side and mostly we won. But every game is a new opportunity for both teams. This season we changed so many players in our team and we play good football.
"I think it will be tough but we have a big chance to cross to the next round and it would be good for us. We have quality to beat Arrows. I think we are ready and we want to try to get that trophy this season.
