Jamal Musiala is currently working on getting back to 100% fitness. After having his metal pins removed, he is on the road to recovery and is already able to train with the team again. Over the course of the summer, there were some curious rumors circulating about him. 

That’s because the Bayern star was considered a potential candidate for a move to the top Turkish club Galatasaray. This even went so far that the club felt compelled to issue a press release stating that all rumors surrounding a Musiala deal were completely false. 

What initially sounds like a curious and unrealistic report here—but has no further consequences—caused quite a stir in Turkey.

Journalist Arrested for Misleading Musiala Rumors

The Musiala rumor has now had serious repercussions for the journalist who started it. According to ntv, Burhan Can Terzi was subsequently arrested.

The specific charge is “public dissemination of misleading information.” Terzi was taken into custody today as part of an investigation initiated by the Bakirköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. For the moment, it is unclear how the situation will proceed and what penalties the journalist faces.

The rumor about Musiala surfaced at a time when the Bayern star was already facing some criticism for failing to perform at a high level during the World Cup. He lacked consistency and fluidity.

Nevertheless, a move to Galatasaray was considered extremely unrealistic from the moment the reports surfaced and, as is well known, was immediately denied. Currently, the player is working on getting back to his absolute best form. He has big goals at FC Bayern, and coach Vincent Kompany recently confirmed that Musiala is highly motivated and working hard on his game.
