Valencia signed off pre-season with a win over Hércules, shaped by goals from Javi Guerra and Ryunosuke Sato. According to Superdeporte, the performance nudged standards up after the two earlier friendlies against CD Teruel and Newcastle.

Early on, Stole Dimitrievski cut out a dangerous cross on 12 minutes, during Hércules' brightest phase. Jesús Vázquez, strong on the left, then supplied Sato for the first clear opening.

Dario Ugrinic then assisted Guerra for the opener, the midfielder feinting before lashing past the keeper. Guerra later slid a pass between the lines for Sato, who finished a one-on-one.

Pepelu operated as the spare man in the back line, initiating play alongside De Haas, who completed the 90 and pressed cleanly. César Tárrega started before making way at half-time for Panach, while academy full-back Rodrigo Gamón was tidy on the right and supported attacks.

Guido Rodríguez provided balance and authority in midfield, moving simply in a game that asked little of him. Hugo Duro endured a quiet outing despite his effort.

Jaume Durà showed neat touches from the left after coming on, and Aimar Blázquez produced the best chance of the second half with a solo run and shot. Late substitutes Marc Martínez and Marcos Navarro had little time to influence events.

Valencia’s next assignment is already competitive, matchday 2 of LaLiga on Saturday 22 August, when Celta de Vigo visit Mestalla at 19:30.
