According to Superdeporte, Valencia CF have agreed a deal with FC Annecy for 20-year-old midfielder Mayssam Benama, who will join the academy as a reinforcement for Valencia Mestalla.

He becomes the third winter addition to the reserve side and will begin with the B team.

Benama, a French-born Franco-Algerian like Sofiane Feghouli, has represented France at youth level. Valencia gathered positive reports at the 2025 Under-20 World Cup in Chile, where he wore the No 10.

On the pitch he is an organising central midfielder. Feghouli is remembered mainly as a right winger, though he later featured more centrally, and remains a reference for the newcomer.

Benama joined Annecy in September. Limited minutes in Ligue 2 led him to seek a move for game time, an opportunity Valencia now provide.

The attacking midfielder has signed until 2028, with an extension if he reaches the first team. He came through AS Monaco’s academy. In the short term the aim is to establish himself with Valencia Mestalla, with hopes of pushing for the first team or the professional elite in future.
