Article image:Valencia x Barcelona - Highlights, Summary and Match Report

Barcelona dominated possession at Estadio de Mestalla, controlling 76 per cent of the ball, but Valencia made their chances count in a memorable 3-1 victory in the final round of LaLiga EA Sports 25/26. The visitors also finished with more corners, yet the hosts were more incisive in the decisive moments of the match.

After a goalless first hour, Robert Lewandowski broke the deadlock in the 61st minute, finishing after an assist from Ferran Torres. The lead, however, lasted only five minutes, as Javi Guerra levelled for Valencia in the 66th minute to bring the home side firmly back into the contest.

Valencia then completed the turnaround in the 71st minute through Luis Rioja, before Guido Rodríguez sealed the result deep into stoppage time, scoring in the 90+7th minute. Despite Barcelona?s territorial control, Valencia were far more effective in front of goal, converting three of their 19 shots.

The statistics reflected a lively contest: Valencia registered six shots on target and seven corners, while Barcelona finished with 11 attempts, four on target and eight corners. In the end, Valencia?s sharper finishing and late pressure proved decisive at Mestalla.
