Vasco extend Puma Rodríguez contract to 2027 with 2028 option

Vasco da Gama have extended right-back Puma Rodríguez’s contract until December 2027, with an option to 2028. The club said in a statement that the extension was confirmed on Monday.

The deal includes two guaranteed years, with the additional season dependent on targets or mutual agreement. It reflects the confidence of the board and coaching staff in the Uruguayan, who arrived in January 2023 from Nacional-URU.

A regular in Uruguay squads, Rodríguez has played 124 games for Vasco, scoring 8 goals and providing 7 assists.

He recently covered at left-back after Lucas Piton’s injury, and coach Fernando Diniz had pushed for a new deal because of his versatility and availability.

Rodríguez also featured on the wing in 2024 and maintains a strong rapport with the club’s supporters.
