Vasco closed the second 2026 transfer window on Friday with six additions for Pedro Emanuel’s squad, strengthening despite cash constraints and the unfinished sale of the SAF.
According to Globo.com, Admar Lopes unveiled left-back Paulinho, centre-back Gabriel Pereira, midfielder Santiago Sosa, playmaker Alan Lescano and forwards Colidio and Bruno Duarte. A late move for Richarlison fell through after no agreement was reached on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
Sosa, Colidio and Lescano were signed permanently with smaller upfront sums and the bulk to be paid in instalments from next year, totalling about R$ 36 million for Sosa, R$ 23 million for Colidio and R$ 36 million for Lescano. Racing only released Sosa to travel after receiving the required banking guarantees for future payments.
Bruno Duarte joined outright for $2 million, around R$ 12 million, with payment due later this year, a structure accepted by Red Star Belgrade based on guarantees. Gabriel Pereira arrived on loan from Copenhagen, with an option that can become an obligation if targets are met, for a €1.5 million fee, roughly R$ 9 million.
Paulinho signed a pre-contract in January and cost nothing, though he is yet to make his debut. Businessman Marcos Lamacchia played a crucial role in completing key deals while the club readies the final steps to sell 90% of the SAF.
This week, a court authorised a loan of up to R$ 150 million to ease cash flow and set 25 September for the competitive process, opening the door to new bidders who must present bank guarantees covering liabilities under judicial recovery.
Almirante Participações e Empreendimentos S.A., linked to Marcos Faria Lamacchia, will act as stalking horse with matching rights. Lamacchia’s proposal includes R$ 500 million earmarked for football and other commitments, with the deal valued at around R$ 3 billion.
