WC 2026 Qualifiers: Five African Qualifying Matches to be Played in Morocco

Only a few days remain before the kickoff of matchdays 9 and 10 of the final phase of African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.These rounds will take place during the upcoming October international window, a decisive period in which the nine African teams earning a spot at the World Cup—scheduled for the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026—will be determined.According to reliable sources, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to stage 13 matches outside of Morocco, compared to around 10 during previous international breaks. Thus, Morocco will host only five fixtures during this final phase.
