West Ham United are exploring a move for Moise Kean, according to reports from Italy. The Hammers are looking for a young, hungry centre-forward.

He is reportedly on the club’s radar, having bagged 19 goals to spearhead Fiorentina to the Europa Conference League.

West Ham could use a new striker, with Niclas Fullkrug poised to leave soon, following an underwhelming spell in East London.

Callum Wilson has found his groove, but he is also heading into the twilight of his career, and West Ham clearly need someone to take the mantle. Enter Kean.

Following a disappointing spell in England, Kean returned to his native Italy but struggled to get going for three seasons before a remarkable 2024/25 campaign.

His performances have caught the eyes of West Ham, who are waiting on an opportunity to pounce.

West Ham must avoid signing Kean at all costs

While Kean looks a tempting target for West Ham, the club would be making a grave mistake by signing the Italian international.

Firstly, his goals have dried up. He has netted only twice in the league this season, a major reason Fiorentina are dead last in Serie A.

He has missed 11 big chances in 14 appearances.

Also, it is worth noting that his time in the Premier League with Everton was a letdown.

He scored four goals in 39 appearances, not enough to prove he deserves to be in the top flight.

Granted, he was younger then, but the red flags are still worth pointing out.

The Hammers need a lethal figure to lead the line, and Kean is not clinical enough for the job at hand.

West Ham will be better served turning to other exciting young strikers like Kaio Jorge, Jhon Duran, Yuri Alberto, Franculino Dju, etc.

Kean does not move the needle and would be a massive waste of funds if the Hammers decide to chase his signature. Fiorentina consider him ‘unsellable’, and it should remain so.
