West Ham United have agreed a deal to sign Manchester City attacker Divine Mukasa on loan for the season.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants more attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
The Hammers were linked with Sunderland winger Jocelin Ta Bi yesterday but it appears they will be signing Mukasa instead.
The 18-year-old Man City attacker will now undergo a medical and could be announced officially this weekend.
The English winger left West Ham in July 2023 and is keen to return to his old club for the season.
Mukasa spent last season on loan in the Championship with Leicester City, weighing in with two goals and three assists in 15 appearances.
He spent ten years with the Hammers as an academy player and will be desperate to help them secure an immediate return to the Premier League.
Mukasa’s creativity could come in handy, with his ability to excel in tight spaces a quality which could benefit West Ham.
He has found it tricky to break into Man City’s first-team and will need to prove his worth this season.
Mukasa has yet to show what he is capable of doing at first-team level given the gulf between youth football and senior football.
He has the talent, and Nuno will hope to get him firing on all cylinders.
