Chris Davies is convinced that Birmingham won't be left short-handed in the second half of the campaign after midfielder's release
Chris Davies has assured Birmingham City fans that a plan is in place and that his side won't be left light in attacking areas, despite Keshi Anderson's recent release.
The club announced on Sunday that the wideman, who was in conversation for Player of the Year at Birmingham in last season's League One campaign, had mutually agreed to terminate his contract following a lackluster return to the Championship.
Indeed, Anderson had started just seven league games for the Blues this season, scoring once, and after being withdrawn just 30 minutes into the 3-0 loss at Sheffield United on December 20th, he made just one squad appearance in the following four league games leading up to his release.
However, 19 appearances over the course of the campaign thus far indicate that the 30-year-old was a useful squad player, and with Demarai Gray out until February, Chris Davies now finds himself short of players on the left side of his attack.

Per a report from Birmingham World, Blues boss Chris Davies revealed why Anderson was allowed to leave this past week and stated that the club are working tirelessly to bring in reinforcements sooner rather than later.
"From our point of view, we are trying to mould the squad to what's best for the rest of this season and beyond," he said.
"I think there are players who want to play and have that opportunity to play more. We are trying to look at everything and see what we need.
"We're not far away with players that are hopefully coming in, so I don't think there will be a big change. What we won't be by the end of January is short of numbers. We will have covered those positions; it's just in the interim period.
"We wish Keshi well for the future. He was a good player for us in League One. This season, he obviously hasn't played as much, but from my side, I absolutely wish him all the best for the future."
With a difficult trip to Swansea City on the horizon this Saturday, and no imminent sign of an incoming before then, there are questions to be made about the timing of these decisions.
Recently, forgotten man Kanya Fujimoto has been earning more minutes off the bench, and Willum Willumsson has had to be thrown back in the side following three months out, starting three of the last five Championship games.
And it seems that Chris Davies will have to rely on these squad players a little bit more in the coming games while the club works to bring in suitable replacements.

With the recent results on the field, barring the big win over Coventry City a fortnight ago, having been less than ideal, plus an availability crisis worsened by the departures of a couple of key squad players with no incomings the other way, it can be easy to fear the worst at Birmingham currently.
However, the promise Chris Davies made regarding the squad not being short of numbers by the end of the window can provide encouragement and excitement to those inside St Andrew's.
With how ambitious the ownership at Birmingham is, there's always a little buzz whenever the transfer window opens. With transfers a necessity between now and February 2nd, there's an expectation that something big will be in the works.
Evidently, Anderson was a fan favourite during his time at the club, especially given his performances last season, and Blues fans can be aggrieved at his departure.
But if the higher-ups at St Andrew's can replace the 30-year-old with an exciting, dynamic wideman before the window closes, there'll be a newfound optimism that the second half of the campaign can be a lot more positive than the first.
