An insight into the reasoning behind the decision of the board at La Liga giants Barcelona not to go all out for the signature of Club Brugge star Nicolò Tresoldi has come to the fore online.
This comes amid confirmation that the Blaugrana were simply not willing to meet the demands laid out for the talented attacker’s services.
Frontman Tresoldi saw his name heavily linked with that of Barcelona over the final weeks of the transfer window. As Deco and co. hit a wall in efforts to bring in priority striker target Julián Alvarez, the German youth international was earmarked as a potential alternative.
Tresoldi, widely considered a future star in the making, has found the net four times in five appearances in the colours of Club Brugge already this season.
As per a report from German transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, Barcelona, in turn, ‘showed concrete interest in recent days’ in a deal for the 21-year-old. It is concluded, however, that:
‘Barca were not willing to meet Club Brugge’s valuation of around €50m.’
