Wolves have sacked head coach Rob Edwards after seven months in charge.

The club said in a statement that, following a season-end review, a change in leadership was required as it enters its next stage, while thanking Edwards and his staff for their professionalism. It added that the search for a new head coach is already under way, with further updates to come.

The 43-year-old leaves with his coaching team after overseeing 30 games. He was informed this morning that he had been dismissed.

Edwards was expected to be given the chance to rebuild Wolves’ squad and was heavily involved in planning the recruitment strategy.

He played a key role in Andre signing a new deal and in Kieran Trippier agreeing to join, and he appeared in the announcement video for Raul Jimenez’s return.
