Wolves’ pre-season tour diary opens with a smooth arrival in Portugal, the trip beginning with a bleary-eyed start and a hassle-free journey to the Algarve.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the day began with a four am alarm and a swift run through Birmingham airport, Jet2 bag drop and security taking a combined 45 minutes.

After a quick Popeyes breakfast at six am, it was on to the Faro flight. The two hours and 50 minutes passed in intermittent sleep, and the first win came on landing, breezing through passport control on an Irish passport at an airport known for queues when multiple flights arrive.

Bags collected, a shuttle led to the hire car depot a short drive away. First time driving abroad on the other side, the driver was upgraded from a Fiat Panda to an automatic Opel Corsa, which made settling in easier, and the journey to the apartment was completed without incident.

Base for the week is a seaside town on the Algarve within driving distance of Wolves’ base. After stocking up on supplies, the evening was spent getting ahead on work.

The series marking Fosun’s 10 years of ownership will continue this week, alongside on-the-ground insight into Cesar Peixoto’s training sessions. Expect exclusive interviews, daily videos and this tour diary throughout the week as the squad are put through their paces before a return to the Championship in the 2026/27 season.
