Wrexham and Hull City are among the clubs eyeing a deal for Enzo Bardeli
Wrexham narrowly missed out on a place in the Championship play-offs after finishing two points behind sixth place Hull City on the final day of the campaign.
The Red Dragons were competing in the Championship after earning a third consecutive promotion in the previous campaign.
The Welsh outfit were in the National League as recently as 2022, but Phil Parkinson’s side have enjoyed a rapid rise in the years since.
But the Tigers are now just one game away from promotion to the Premier League after they fended off Wrexham for the final spot in the top six.
Victory over Millwall across the two legs of their semi-final clash has booked their place at Wembley Stadium later this month.
The Yorkshire outfit haven’t competed in the top flight since suffering relegation in 2017, and they are now just one more win away from ending that nine-year absence - but will they be battling Wrexham for a transfer target this simmer?

It has been reported by Give Me Sport that Hull are targeting a move for Enzo Bardeli this summer, and it is understood that they face competition from Wrexham, among other clubs, in the bid to win the midfielder’s signature.
The 25-year-old is set for an exit from French side Dunkerque, who finished 10th in Ligue 2 this season, with his contract expiring next month.
But the two Championship sides will both have to fend off interest from Spanish clubs Getafe and Levante, who could offer top flight football provided they survive relegation from La Liga in the final two games.
Sunderland were previously interested in signing Bardeli, but it’s believed that the Black Cats are no longer keen on his services, having moved on to bigger and better things as they look to push on in the Premier League next season.
Frenchman Bardeli, who has scored 10 goals and assisted a further seven in all competitions this season, has been with Dunkerque since 2021, but is now ready to explore a move elsewhere as he seeks a new challenge in his career.
He previously came through the ranks of the Lille academy system, and has never played outside of French football.
It remains to be seen what the midfielder’s preference is at this stage, although Hull may be able to offer him Premier League football if they can win the play-off final later this month.
The Tigers are set to face Southampton at Wembley Stadium, but the Hampshire outfit are at risk of being expelled from the play-offs due to an alleged spying incident involving Middlesbrough.
Meanwhile, Wrexham are preparing for another year in the second tier after Parkinson’s side finished two points adrift of Hull, coming seventh.

Bardeli will be a free agent this summer, which makes him an appealing option to bolster a club’s midfield options.
The 25-year-old earned his place in the Ligue 2 team of the year, and has impressed with his performances for Dunkerque, so it’s no surprise he’s garnering such interest after he contributed nine goals and six assists from 33 league appearances.
Hull will be well-placed to win his signature if they can earn promotion to the Premier League in the play-off final, and he could provide some quality strength in depth for Sergej Jakirovic’s side, although they may be able to get a higher quality of player on paper should they return to the top flight.
But Wrexham are an appealing option even after missing out on a top six finish, as the project being built by Parkinson is quite exciting, and the club will no doubt want to contend for promotion again next season.
