Wycombe Wanderers have sacked manager Michael Duff just seven games into the 2026/27 season.

The Chairboys are currently rock bottom of League One on just three points and are one of three teams without a win in the third tier this season. 

Duff was appointed just over a year ago when again Wycombe made an early managerial change. Then, Wanderers were 19th in the table before eventually going on to finish 11th, well ahead of the drop zone and 12 points off the play-off places.

"Wycombe Wanderers have parted company with Head Coach Michael Duff and First-Team Coach Alex Morris," a statement by the Buckinghamshire club said.

"The club has made the decision in light of a disappointing run of results since the spring and believes the time is right to take a new direction.

"Everyone at the club would like to thank Michael and Alex for their hard work and contributions to Wycombe Wanderers and wish them every success for the future.

"The appointment of an interim Head Coach will follow later today."

Wycombe will next be in action on Saturday when they travel to face Leyton Orient.
