Alessio Furlanetto is set for a spell on the sidelines following an ACL surgery, so Lazio will resort to the young Davide Renzetti.

Lazio Ringing Changes Between the Posts

Lazio’s goalkeeping department is undergoing significant changes this summer, especially with Ivan Provedel on the verge of joining Inter Milan. The 32-year-old has been the club’s first choice between the sticks over the last four years.

Provedel’s departure should pave the way for Christos Mandas to claim a starting role.  The Greek custodian failed to earn a permanent transfer to Bournemouth following a forgettable six-month loan spell, but he has Gennaro Gattuso’s full backing. Edoardo Motta, who impressed while Provedel was injured, should be Mandas’ understudy.

Lazio Confirm Alessio Furlanetto Surgery

Lazio’s original plan was to maintain Furlanetto as the third choice behind Mandas and Motta. The 24-year-old played the last two matches of the 2025/26 campaign due to an injury crisis, and he didn’t disgrace himself. But sadly for the Italian, he suffered a serious injury that ruled him out of action for a long period.

On Wednesday, the club released a statement confirming Furlanetto has undergone surgery to repair his damaged ACL.

Davide Renzetti to Join Lazio Senior Squad

With Furlanetto unavailable for several months, La Lazio Siamo Noi expects the club to promote Renzetti to the first team. The 20-year-old is a Lazio youth product who spent the previous campaign on loan at Bra. He made 24 appearances in Serie C, conceding 34 goals and registering five clean sheets. The young Roman’s contract with the Biancocelesti is only valid for another year.
