AC Milan have reached full agreement with Lazio to sign Mario Gila, according to Fabrizio Romano. The move is described as a done deal.
Gila, 25, was expected to leave with one year left on his contract and no plans to renew. Napoli agreed personal terms but could not close with Lazio, while Atalanta had a bid accepted then stalled talks with the player.
Milan offered the Barcelona-born centre-back a net salary of four to five million euros a year. Agent Alejandro Camano travelled to Rome on Monday to deliver the proposal, an initial 24 million euros plus a further two to three million that was rejected before an improved bid was tabled.
He has also issued his “Here we go”, adding that a five-year agreement with the defender is in place and that Real Madrid are due 50% of the deal.
Sky Sport Italia reports Lazio will receive 27-28 million euros guaranteed, potentially rising to 30 million euros with add-ons, matching Claudio Lotito’s request.
Previous reporting indicated Madrid’s 50% clause applies to Lazio’s profit, so the five million euros the Biancocelesti paid in 2022 would be deducted, leaving roughly 11 million euros for the Spanish club.
