Sky Sport Italia, Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio report that Milan have an agreement in place to sign centre-back Mario Gila from Lazio, with Real Madrid entitled to 50% of the fee.

The defender is poised to become Milan’s second summer signing after their club-record move for Goncalo Ramos.

The fee is in the region of €30m including bonuses, of which €15m would go to Madrid. Gila came through at Madrid before joining Lazio in 2022 for a reported €6m.

Milan initially had an offer of €25m plus €2m in bonuses rejected, with a compromise found at a fixed €27m to €28m plus add-ons to reach €30m.

The 25-year-old is expected to sign a five-year contract at San Siro worth around €4m to €5m per season. He had recently entered the final year of his Lazio deal.
