Brentford agree £20m for ex-Leeds loanee Jaidon Anthony, McCarron ‘to get’ St Johnstone trial | OneFootball

Brentford have agreed a £20m deal in principle to sign former Leeds loanee Jaidon Anthony from Burnley. The winger spent 2023-24 at Elland Road on loan from Bournemouth, then joined the Clarets permanently in May 2025.

Burnley return to the Championship after last season’s relegation, although Anthony enjoyed a decent campaign. Meanwhile, former Leeds youngster Liam McCarron is set to be offered a trial by St Johnstone, according to the Dundee Courier.

McCarron joined Leeds from Carlisle United as an 18-year-old in July 2019. Marcelo Bielsa handed him a first-team debut in the home Premier League defeat to Arsenal in December 2019.

That proved his only first-team outing before a move to Stoke City in June 2022. He later had a loan at Port Vale, then spells at Northampton Town and Boston United, joining the latter in February this year.

Boston released McCarron this summer when his contract expired.
