Brentford ‘agree’ £20m Jaidon Anthony deal as Liam McCarron ‘to get’ St Johnstone trial | OneFootball

Brentford have reportedly agreed a £20m deal in principle to sign former Leeds loanee Jaidon Anthony from Burnley.

Fabrizio Romano reports the package is £17m fixed plus £3m in add-ons, and that Anthony is set to sign a five-year contract.

The winger spent 2023-24 on loan at Elland Road from Bournemouth, then joined Burnley permanently in May 2025. Burnley return to the Championship after last season’s relegation.

In other transfer news, a former Leeds youngster is set to be handed a trial by an SPL side.

Left back Liam McCarron joined from Carlisle United as an 18-year-old in July 2019. Marcelo Bielsa gave him a first-team debut in the Premier League defeat at home to Arsenal in December 2019.

He left to join Stoke City in June 2022, then had a loan at Port Vale. Moves to Northampton Town and Boston United followed, joining the latter in February this year.

He was released this summer when his contract expired, and the Dundee Courier reports newly-promoted SPL side St Johnstone are set to take the 25-year-old on trial.
