Brest’s 2-0 win over OM on Friday, the first match for new Marseille coach Habib Beye, puts the club at the heart of the Ligue 1 team of the week. According to L'Équipe, Brest provide four selections and Brittany has seven representatives overall.
Ludovic Ajorque struck both goals, each created by Hugo Magnetti, in a 4-2-3-1. Brest were marked 6.5 and named team of the round.
At the back, Junior Diaz made 11 clearances and goalkeeper Grégoire Coudert produced four saves. The central defence is completed by Denis Zakaria, Monaco’s captain, who levelled at Lens on 70 minutes before Ansu Fati made it 3-2 on 72, sealing a comeback of two goals in eight minutes.
Full-backs Mahamadou Nagida, who recovered seven balls in a 3-0 win at Auxerre, and Lucas Hernandez, solid in his duels as PSG beat Metz at the Parc des Princes to return to the top, complete the back four.
In midfield, Rennes’ Mahdi Camara scored twice at Auxerre and Lorient’s Noah Cadiou struck in the final seconds to earn a 3-3 draw at Nice. Joining Ajorque in attack are Nice’s Mohamed-Ali Cho, who delivered an assist, and Strasbourg’s Martial Godo, a scorer again in a 3-1 win that ended Lyon’s streak.
Sébastien Pocognoli takes charge as coach of the week after Monaco’s comeback at Lens from 0-2 down.
