Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has dropped a very intriguing Chelsea transfer story as attentions turn to the next couple of windows.
Everything has gone very quiet now around transfers as it always will do at the end of a long summer window. But January is not that far away and although it will never be as crazy as the summer, some things might happen and there will be some stories brewing up.
Chelsea could well look to bring in new striker Emmanuel Emegha in the winter window – it’s unclear at this point whether he has been signed from Strasbourg to arrive in January or in the summer.
At the moment he is still playing for and scoring goals for the French side, Chelsea’s sister club, but The Blues do now own the player and he will be joining them sooner or later.
Emegha’s future is being linked to the future of current Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who is on loan at Bayern Munich this season. And that in itself is a story on it’s own.

Could Jackson return to Chelsea? Well, never say never is the message from Fabrizio Romano. Although he is basically saying no, he will not return to Chelsea.
In his latest YouTube video, Romano says:
“In football never say never, as there could be new managers, new agents, or whatever happens. But if you ask me today, the feeling around Nicolas Jackson and Chelsea is that Jackson won’t play for Chelsea again, and the story is over.
“The feeling at Chelsea is that with Nicolas Jackson over, Emegha will take the place of that kind of striker. Also in terms of skills, obviously they are not the same kind of player, but Chelsea see big potential, and that’s why they prepared the deal.”
